;_;

Um, can anyone think of somebody Remus might send a Christmas card to in 1981? I need an excuse to get him into a giftshop.

And I can't think of a single soul. Perhaps Dumbledore would like one.

You could go for the angsty route and have him send one to the Longbottoms, I suppose. That is a difficult question.

Too late, unless you mean sending one to St Mungo's. (Ouch) It's hard.

Yeah, I was thinking of St. Mungo's. It would be the super-angsty route (probably not what you're going for).

Or McGonagall?

Hagrid?

Shacklebolt?

Oh, Hagrid. That's perfect, thank you :)

you're welcome. :)

i reckon at least once or twice he sent cards to harry (by muggle post), even though he knew the dursleys would likely destroy them immediately. see, i don't think he stayed away from harry/the dursleys quite so much as dumbledore would have liked. ;)

I don't think he stayed far away, either. A card to Harry at this point would effectively be one to Petunia, though, and I suspect they loathe each other.

Personally, I would take an easy out and invent an aunt or something for him. ;)

Other than that I suppose you could pick a character that he doesn't know very well -- anothe Order member, or something -- but who's done something kind/thoughtful/nice for him recently. I can see Remus sending a Christmas card in return for something like that.

[livejournal.com profile] rufus suggested Hagrid, which I've used. It's just a throwaway detail, so I didn't want to have to invent backstory.

Thanks for the suggestion :)

Lily's parents? They might have still been alive by then...

I think they were, but I've got their place in my own timeline worked out. I don't think Remus knew them, though.

Thanks :)

You could always be really emotional and have him buy a card and put it on James or Lily's grave. But I don't know. Could be kinda corny-ish.

I can see him doing that later on. I think he's still too much in shock in 1981 :(

Thanks for the suggestion.

Are his parents still alive? Or an aunt, perhaps?

Not on my timeline :(

*feels cruel*

Thanks for the suggestion :)
