Dear Yuletide Writer,

Firstly, thank you for offering to write in one of my tiny fandoms :) Secondly, please enjoy yourself. This is supposed to be fun. Write whatever you fancy about these characters and I'll enjoy it ^_^

My fandoms: The Sword and the Flame, Howls Moving Castle, Drina, Much Ado About Nothing )

Not so much this week. Under the cut are some icons, mostly Arthur, Gwen and armour, but with a few other characters. Nothing spoilery if you've seen the episode titles. Under that is a fic from this week's Camelot Fleet Party, trying to put the Merlin characters in my home town. Much harder to do than I anticipated.

Gwen is pretty and armour is shiny )

Both from the kissing memes this weekend. Merlin is, of course, the property of the BBC. No series 2 spoilers in these, and neither is higher than a PG.

First, Summer Kisses (yes, I suck at titles), Merlin/Arthur, 1255 words.

A falcon flew through the open doors, blue-grey wings flashing between the pillars of the hall with a swift, impossible grace. )

~#~

Secondly, A Lonely Impulse of Delight, Gwen/Morgana, Spitfire AU, 1514 words. I've been reading about the female pilots of the Air Transport Auxiliary, and it seemed like the perfect wartime job for Gwen and Morgana. I kind of want to write the rest of this AU now, with Morgana being wildly jealous that Arthur actually gets to fight in his plane (which is called Excalibur, and Merlin, who is the engineer, has painted a stupid picture on the nose and is terrified every time Arthur and Lancelot go flying off. Er, yes, stopping now).

Few men appreciated the arrival of girl in a Spit on a day when they were scared to fly. )

Episode 2x02 coda, originally posted over here at Camelot Fleet Packed full of spoilers for all of the new series so far, of course. Disclaimer: this particular retelling of the legends belongs to the BBC. Rating: PG-13 fluff, about 2000 words.

Merlin has turned moping into an art form )

This fandom is such fun ^_^

I don't have anything more to say, but thank you, all of you.

Thank you to the mods for awesome, sometimes crazy, often pure damn beautiful prompts. Thank you for the discussions on the symbolism of the phoenix and obscene Latin phrases and snotty young pureblood boys. Thank you for every squee and scream and eep and demand for more. Thank you for egging me on to crazier and crazier plot twists. Thank you for letting me know you were enjoying it - nothing motivates a writer like feedback and you guys are fantastic at it.

And now I'm going to get some sleep. Hope you enjoy the end of it, folks.

*hugs*

Day 20 is here and Day 21 here

Two commentary posts in one, I'm afraid, as I've got quite behind.

Okay, so this grabbed me and would not let me think about anything else until I wrote at least some of it (seriously, I wandered round the Co-op yesterday with my mind so full of Badon that I came back with six packets of chocolate biscuits and no bread). This is definitely not the whole thing, just where it begins, but I hope it stands alone enough that you guys won't hate me if I never write any more.

And I, the last, go forth companionless,
And the days darken round me, and the years,
Among new men, strange faces, other minds.

Title: The Coming of the King
Fandom: Merlin
Rating: PG, pre-slash
Words: 2290
Disclaimer: I do not own this incarnation of the characters (though, seriously, if anyone from the BBC is reading this and wants to offer me a job, I am totally qualified for this one ~_^)

It was winter when the wolf first spoke to Arthur, six years after Merlin had left Camelot, two after Morgana had vanished in the night. )
