Reservoirs (Day 13)

is over here.

I think I have the Day 13 blues because I had to drag this out of me, all but the last few paragraphs. Possibly I'm feeling the pressure a bit because I won't have much leeway to catch up after the end of August (back to work on the 3rd September and will be so busy that I'll forget the internet exists, let alone fandom, within a few days). So, yeah, can't afford to get behind much.

I did contemplate having Sirius whisper all his dirty fantasies into Remus' ear, but I think his bluntness is more powerful. Or maybe I was trying to stay focussed instead of ambling off to write epic Merlin fic with Badon and dragons and druids and stuff (I finally finished watching all the DVD extras and oh, aren't they all so darling?). I'm, er, not going to write that, btw, before anyone gets excited. My day doesn't have enough hours in it.

Probably having a day off now. Depends if the muse starts gnawing my ankles or whether I have to sit down and think about what happens next.

I really think the bluntness works a lot better - it makes it all so immediate.

(Damn, I was totally getting excited about the Merlin epic... :))

Thing is, if I wrote a Merlin epic, I'd try and pour everything I know about the Arthurian cycle and it would be thousands of words long and would take over my life. I barely dare write my own original take on the legends because last time I tried I got so obsessed with it I ended up drinking eight litres of Diet Coke in a day just so I could keep writing beyond human limits (it made me hallucinate dragons and walk into walls). So Merlin fic would be a very, very bad idea.

I like the bluntness, on reflection. It packs more of a punch.

Ah, fair enough. I can definitely see how that might happen (v. familiar with obsession, me). Writing is far better when it's a part of life, not a scary driving force...

Also, eight litres of Diet Coke? Holy crap, woman. O__o

Never, ever again. Not even with my caffeine addiction.

I hear you! I spazz if I drink more than three coffees a day, so gosh, the thought of that much coke is quite mind-boggling. :)

Ah, I picked up a serious tea addiction when I was at uni, so I've got a fair caffeine resistance.

See, for me, tea seems to exist on a different level. I can drink oodles of it, but coffee makes me all trembly. Weird stuff. :)

I can't stand the taste of coffee so I drink tea by the pot instead. I teach every lesson with a cup in my hand.

Righteous! *approval*

I like blunt Sirius. Suits him better. Besides, would he have time to tell Remus all his fantasies? I'd assume all that talk of dragons and druids might take a while...:D

Still thoroughly enjoying this, btw, and I admire your ability to do this. Good luck with the muse!

It does, doesn't it. I suppose I could have left them tied up a bit longer, but he might have lost his mind completely.

Thank you :)
