I very much agree. I have a hard time thinking that any of the Maurauders put up with sycophantic hangers on, much less make one a part of their inner circle. There had to be *something* about Peter that they liked or admired enough to let him get that close for that long. It's hard to see him that way now because he sucks so incredibly hard as an adult but still. It makes James, Sirius and Remus look like morons if Peter was always some sort of little irritating freak that they just kept around because he worshiped them.
