I find Andromeda absolutely fascinating. The little hints we get about her in canon suggest that she's pretty formidable whilst remaining fairly sane. Anyone who can bring up a shapechanging kid to be sane and well-balanced is definitely not in the batshit-insane subset of Blacks.
If you're looking for good Andromeda fic I cannot plug rufus' current series enough (the most recent one is here (http://community.livejournal.com/blanketforts/115126.html#cutid1) and there's links to the earlier parts.. She's writing about the Marauders' first year and the problems Sirius had being accepted by Gryffindor. Andromeda's appeared a few times now. I adore the whole thing.
I'm glad you liked it. I've been having fun writing Alice lately. All we know about her is that she was a famous Auror; that she was well known and well liked in the wizarding world; and that she had a kind face. I'd much rather see her written as a talented auror than the sweet and frumpy woman fanon seems to have made her.
