After HBP and all its talk of obsessive love, it struck me that the imbalance we see in the House of Black is a possessive thing. They have a house full of old, broken things they can't get rid of, Sirius' mother can't forgive him for going beyond her reach, Sirius himself is clinging to his memories for sanity. Then we have Narcissa protecting her own and Draco flaunting his possessions and Bella and Voldemort. It struck me that those who escape would have to find a way to deal with that urge.
